Well Alice is ready for her cleft surgery on Friday (4 more sleeps) She is getting grommits done at the same time as well. Needless to say mum and dad are stressed and she has no idea what is going on! Fingers and toes are crossed for a speedy recovery.
Hi :) How did Alice go with her surgery? Did she have the soft and hard palate repaired or just the soft? At the moment it looks like we might be having our surgery on 15 or 22nd December, so will be glad when it is all done with as Ethan is doing really well now, but it plays on the back of your mind that you still have that surgery looming. Will be glad to start a new year a fresh and onwards and upwards from here.
Hope you are coping well. It is so hard seeing our babies go through so much and feeling so helpless. I am glad it is done at a young age so they dont understand or really remember it all!! best wishes xx
The surgery went well! Yippee! She was out of hospital in 4 days, so that was a suprise to us. Alice had the soft palate surgery. Was doing all the right things, so got to come home. The surgeon wanted us to go back to Brisbane for a follow up in two weeks, (but this is a 10hour round trip for us), so he is leaving it to our local GP to check on her. Thankfully. So don't have to do the mission drive until January. I have noticed that she is making more noises already, whether or not that is the grommits or the cleft surgery I'm unsure. Thanks to all the emails and texts from all. Charmaine
